Douglas Berry joined the Blue Ridge Development team in January 2003, after a seventeen year career as an urban planner, economic and community development specialist, public administrator and private consulting.

During his public sector career, Doug established a sound reputation for comprehensively addressing both client and general community objectives in the development of industrial, commercial and municipal facilities. As an economic and community development practitioner, Mr. Berry facilitated the location of more than fifty warehouse, distribution, and manufacturing facilities in East Tennessee, including the Kimberly-Clark Corporation, American Honda Motor Company, Inc., John Deere Commercial Worksite Products, and John Deere and Company’s Southern Distribution Center. Mr. Berry also served as project manager in the development and redevelopment of more than 3,000 acres and facilitated master planning efforts on an additional 4,000 acres in the Southeast.

Mr. Berry is actively involved in community affairs, serving on the Board of Directors of the East Tennessee Community Design Center and the Knox Housing Partnership. He is also actively involved as a volunteer with the Loudon County Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Berry holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Maryville College and attended the Graduate School of Planning at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Mr. Berry is also a member of the National Parks and Conservation Association, the Appalachian Trail Conference, and Tennessee Citizens for Wilderness Planning.
